56 years ago today I was a 5' 6" 119 lb kid sworn into the USAF in Detroit, Michigan. Flight 284, E area, barracks 23 was my home until August, 1951. Turning point in my life and no regrets.

54 years ago today I was a 17 year old kid 5'5" 105 Lbs and was sworn into the US Air Force in Providence, Rhode Island. Two days later I was on a train to Geneva New York with a number of other guys. We got there at about 6 am on the 1st of June 1953. I became the Right Guide for the 2594 Flight.as I knew how to march having had 2 years under age in the Connecticut State Guard. The next 4 years were some of the best times of my life. I met and married my wife in 1954 and we have 3 children and 4 grand children We moved to Southern California when I got out and I learned to fly on the GI Bill.and still own and fly a Piper 260 Comanche

The Flight Information System is now available via the Site Navigation page. The "Association Newsbook" provides a descriptor( "A New Approach" ) of the FIS. The system has some minor problems, but we believe the user experience gained is of greater value. In addition, the knowledge gained allows us to make system improvements.
Please provide any feedback.

To those that are interested, I have checking on the LAFB Photo project.It has been down for a few days but. , it is back up again and I haven"t notice any real progress of reloading photos that were already in the system. I t will probably longer than they figured.

Excited to hear about the new memorial to Chief Etchberger. Glad to hear the state will be taking care of the Air Force and Navy Museums in perpetuity. Looking at the overhead shots, it must be a beautiful place.
