An ex B-47 guy I ran into on the Internet asked me if I knew what it was called when you split the two inboard engines by pulling the anti rotation pin. To be honest I have completely forgotten, so if any of you old B-47 guys know, let me know.

Wilford, i went to the MAAM site, spent an hour there, it is awesome. Those are some very dedicated folks! If i ever get in the area i'll be sure to stop in. My nephew in AK restores planes also..he's finished a bi wing stearman trainer and i've flown with him in an antanov AN II that he's rebuilt. We are blessed to have folks that dedicate their lives to saving the past for us.

Bill, when my kids or grandkids wanted to see my slides, my wife would leave the room! I fooled her, i bought a scanner for slides and put them on a cd (all 500 of them) now all the kids have the pics and there's peace in the mccann household again.

while visiting a B47 display at Eglin AFB, my wife asked one of the guys working there how often they hear "I used to". His was response was, "every time and old Airman stops by." Ever catch yourself saying that while looking at an old warbird?

Ralph you are very right on the Mighty Eight AF Museum, off of I 95 just outside of Savannah, GA. been there, they have a wall of rememberence in a garden with names my older brothers name is there ( 35 msn. B17 s/sgt Gunner) 18 yrs old at the time, many great displays and items from POWs , also combat photos and movies
