On October 21, 2011, A small group of Sampson vets and wives/guests met for lunch on Friday October 21, 2011 at the Swanzey Diner, on Route 12, in East. Swanzey, NH.
In attendance were Richard and Joyce Mitchell, Swanzey, NH, Larry Attridge, Troy, NH, Norm Morency, SAFBVA webmaster and wife Darlene, and Phil Pender, SAFBVA N,E, Squadron Coordinator and friend Jean Carpenter,
The vets enjoyed chatting about basic training while at Sampson and their other Air Force assignments. They also exchanged their personal contact information, phone numbers, e-mail addresses etc. The ladies also enjoyed this get together.
Phil mentioned that another vet who was interested in contacting others for this get together was unable to attend this meeting. He also suggested that a squadron be formed and that it be named the Cheshire Squadron. Larry Attridge agreed to be the contact person for this newly named squadron.
