Sampson AFB Vets Assoc

Our Squadron Meetings are held every 4th month at the 56th Fighter Group Restaurant in Farmingdale, NY.

The Long Island Sampson AFB Vets squadron was formed on May 29, 2008 at a luncheon at the 56th Fighter Group Restaurant in Farmingdale Long Island, NY with 53 vets in attendance. Six of the men were at Sampson when it was a Naval Training Center in the 1940's.

Forty six were there in the 1950's when it was known as Sampson Air Force Base and one was there in the 1960's as a park supervisor when it became Sampson State Park. Most of them did not know each other before the luncheon. All in all everyone had a great time. Many exchanged phone numbers.

Luncheon/Meeting held on Wednesday February 3, 2010

The February Luncheon/Meeting was a huge success with 76 Air Force, Navy and Army vets and friends in attendance.
The Speakers were Bob Pasanisi Infantry (Merrill's Marauders) and Don Eaton Jr. (Air Force)
Door Prizes were awarded and the winners were William Boerner and Andrew Fesler.
Our numbers are growing. These gatherings are enjoyed by all, Harvey Reibel Squadron Commander.
